Dog Urine & Odor Extraction for Artificial Turf
Our deepest clean, for turf that needs a true reset
When the Smell Keeps Coming Back
You have rinsed it. You have sprayed it. Maybe you have had it cleaned before. And a week later, the smell is back, usually the first warm afternoon after it rains.
That is not bad luck, and it does not mean your turf is ruined. It means the source was never actually removed.
The Extraction Package is built for turf that needs more than a surface clean. Multi-pet households, heavily used yards, and turf that has not been professionally cleaned in over a year. If odor keeps returning no matter what you try, this is the service that finally gets ahead of it.
Why a Surface Clean Isn't Enough
Most turf cleaning treats what you can see and smell on top. Pet urine, oils, and bacteria do not stay there. They work down into the infill and backing, where a spray or a quick broom pass cannot reach.
That is why the odor always seems to come back. It was never taken out, only covered up.
Extraction is different. We physically pull the urine, bacteria, and buildup out of the turf using commercial extraction equipment that reaches the backing, not just the blades. Same idea as a carpet extractor, built for a lawn.
What's Included
- Full inspection and pre-treatment of the turf area
- Surface debris removal, including leaves and larger buildup
- Weed pulling along edges and seams
- Pressurized flush to break up what is bound into the fibers
- Deep extraction pulling embedded urine, pet hair, and debris out of the turf and backing
- De-compacting the infill and unclogging the backing so it drains properly again
- Bacteria and odor elimination post-treatment
- Antimicrobial infill top-off using odor-resistant infill
- Final power broom to restore fiber lift and a like-new look
Extraction Package Pricing
The Extraction Package is $0.90 per square foot. That covers everything listed above in a single visit, with no line items added at the end.
If you are not sure whether you need extraction or a standard clean, we will tell you straight after looking at the turf. Compare all three tiers on our turf cleaning pricing page.
The Result
Turf that is not just deodorized, but actually clean all the way down. Fibers stand back up. Drainage works again. The odor is gone at the source instead of masked.
Most customers notice the difference the same day, and the real test comes a few weeks later when the smell does not return.
Who This Is For
- Multi-pet households, especially large dogs
- Turf that has not been professionally cleaned in 12 months or more
- Yards fighting odor that keeps coming back after other treatments
- Heavily used turf, including play areas and commercial spaces
- Turf that drains slowly or holds water after a storm
If your turf is mainly dull, flat, or dusty without an odor problem, you likely do not need extraction. Our standard artificial turf cleaning service will handle it for less.
Why Colorado Springs Turf Needs This More Than Most
Dry air and hard water are a rough combination for synthetic turf. Urine salts do not rinse away the way they would in a wetter climate. They concentrate, bind into the infill, and sit there until something physically removes them.
Add the freeze and thaw cycles along the Front Range, which pack infill down and slow drainage, and you get turf that traps odor instead of shedding it. Extraction addresses both problems in the same visit.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from your standard cleaning?
Our Base and Peak packages clean the surface, restore the fibers, and treat odor from the top down. Extraction physically pulls contamination out of the infill and backing. If odor has come back after a previous cleaning, that is the difference you are looking for.
How long does it take?
Most residential yards are finished in a single visit. Larger or heavily contaminated areas can take longer, and we will tell you before we start.
Is it safe for pets and kids?
Yes. The treatments we use are pet and child safe once the area is dry. We will let you know how long to stay off the turf, which is usually a couple of hours.
How often do I need it?
For most multi-pet households, once a year keeps things under control, with a standard cleaning in between. Heavier use may call for twice a year.
Will this fix drainage problems?
If the problem is clogged or compacted infill, yes, that is exactly what extraction addresses. If the base underneath was installed incorrectly, that is a different repair. We will tell you which one you are dealing with. See our turf repair service for base and drainage work.
What if my turf is too far gone?
Sometimes it is, though far less often than people expect. If a clean will not fix it, we will say so rather than sell you a service that will not work. Our post on cleaning versus replacing artificial turf walks through how to tell the difference.
